A silver mounted rifle by Wylie Higgins

A rare and unusual percussion rifle by Wylie G. Higgins,  Macon Co. Georgia.  Most of Higgins work is associated with the late flintlock period.  This rifle has a converted flintlock and a silver overlay has been applied to the surface of the lockplate.  All of the furniture and mounts are of silver.  A number of architectural and design elements on this gun are similar to or identical to other known examples of Higgins work.
