A superb percussion drilling combination gun
Unsigned and totally unmarked combination gun, 16ga. x 16ga. x .38 cal rifle bottom center. Style and architecture suggest upper N.Y. state perhaps Vermont or at least that area. Stocked in walnut, mounts are case hardened, Silver cap box and retaining virtually all of its original varnish finish.

Notice the precise inletting for the lock, Trigger guard is the spring for the lower hammer and is linked by a roller.

In this picture you can see the great file/chisel work around the breech area and the rib between the ramrod tube and the barrels.

More detail of the ribs. Notice the tasteful termination of the ribs.

Muzzle with loading equipment removed

Muzzle view with false muzzle in place, the exaggerated 'rifling' is to allow the paper patch for a picket bullet to align correctly

Here the bullet starter is in place, a tapered cone in the brass aligns the bullet on the bore centerline
