English and Continental arms
An Alexander Henry best quality single shot falling block rifle.
.500 - 3 inch black powder express. Circa 1885, retains nearly all of its original bluing, about 70% of the color hardening and much of its wood finish. A slight ding at heel on butt plate but overall a wonderful rifle. These guns have the amazing "stepped" lock which was used to transition from the rather wide breech to a conventional narrow British wrist. All the internal parts are made to mirror the stepped lockplate.

A 12 bore percussion gun by Charles Lancaster circa 1845
This gun would make a great shooter for someone interested in a muzzleloading shotgun.
Bores are .728", 14" length of pull and cast for a right hand shooter. Mechanically great, with all lock parts original and in tact. This gun like most 'Best Guns' until the 1850's has pierced platinum vents at the breeches. Also one of the nipples still in the gun appears to be original in that it is platinum lined. An interesting detail is the front bead, as you can see in the picture it consists of a platinum filler at the muzzles with a bead filed into it. Also, the gun has only one ramrod thimble with no evidence of there ever being the normal second one. Beneath the barrels are London proofs and "C L" for Charles Lancaster as the barrel maker. Breeches, barrel, locks, stock and trigger bow all bear the #1715 serial number. No ramrod came with the gun, pictures show minor chips along top of forend and the horn tab at the forend tip is missing. Weighs 7 lbs. Priced at $2100
